Skylark Gown

I photographed this gown just before the time of day it's supposed to evoke; at twilight with the sun about to slip beneath the horizon. The last bit of color which comes down as keenly as pastel moonstone, similar to the moment that twilight hits a snow covered hill.

The aura of this gown is fairytale, innocent and joyous, like a sugar plum fairy but with a sophisticated "ice maiden" accord.

The ethereal tulle skirt is at the centre, and all the little flowers are just dancing around it like fairies, and then there is the figure flattering bodice with fresh and uplifting celadon gel sequins edging the flame cut décolletage - What a delight!

It is classy, a bit old-fashioned (in the good way as we all know) and so sweet and delicate.

1950’s Brides Magazine describes a tulle gown as the embodiment of delicacy. I completely agree. 1950’s chantilly and tulle gowns are the airiest and most ethereal vintage gowns we own and one of the most lovely and beloved. They transcend so earthbound an image--wistful, almost surreal, like walking in the moonlight just as Heaven overflows with moonbeams.

Hand Dyed, Hand Painted, one of a kind.
